“The theme for National Library Week 2022, ‘Connect with Your Library,’ promotes the idea that libraries are places to get connected to technology by using broadband, computers, and other resources. Libraries also offer opportunities to connect with media, programs, ideas, and classes—in addition to books. Most importantly libraries also connect communities to each other. Overall, the theme is an explicit call to action—an invitation for communities to join, visit, or advocate for their local libraries.”
How can you celebrate this week and EVERY week?
- Visit your library!
- #UniteAgainstBookBans.
- Participate in the #MyLibrary promotion on social media.
- Follow your library, ALA, and I Love Libraries on social media.
No matter where you live, show your library some love! ~Becky
I just followed the ALA’s social media. I should have done it long before now. I’ve used their resources enough!

Hey there. I go to two local libraries pretty often. There’s something about wandering through the aisles, looking at books, that pleases me a lot.

Aha ! so that’s the reason the new library is opening this week; I must drop by and have a look; most of the books I read come from libraries —

Libraries are safe, inclusive, and free places for communities to gather and learn. Definitely worth celebrating.

I’ve been trying to volunteer at our county library, but they are still cautious about having volunteers come in because of Covid.
